L&S Electric Co. was founded in 1969 by Leonard and Sophie Lubas and is still a family-run business, now led by president Ron Lubas. The office is on 131st Place in Hammond.
For homeowners the company handles 100 and 200 amp rewires, new service installations for new construction, service upgrades, receptacles, GFCI outlets and fixtures, corrections of code violations, storm-related service drops and emergency service calls. Estimators visit first and give a free estimate before work starts.
The firm also does commercial and industrial wiring, pole setting and parking lot lighting. It is a NECA member working with IBEW locals and states it is licensed, bonded and insured in Hammond, many other Lake County towns and several Illinois communities.
